The Vernier home in Pinewild won The Award of Excellence in 2003 by the Moore County Home Builders Association.
This spacious, traditional home features decorative niches throughout the house. This home offers a lot of small details that reveal themselves over time. It is hard to see everything in just one visit. One of the judges stated that the 6,270 square foot home had a deceptive entry appearance and emphasized that the home is actually much larger than it appears from the front. He found the home to be a "well-hidden surprise" with "space galore".
The judges also particularly appreciated the layout, calling out the lower-level floor plan as "truly amazing". Other noted features included the custom trim work, the wine closet storage, the door casings, columns and archways and the butler's pantry.
